We want to help keep you safe Sacramento! Help you and your family and friends safe as you drive in the rain this winter!

Get your car Rain-Ready!

Tired tread is extremely important! Along with tire pressure. Using a tire gauge you should be checking your tire pressure once a month.
You should also check your headlights, taillights, brake lights and turn signals to make sure they are all working properly.

Go Slow!

Driving too fast in these weather conditions is very dangerous! Because they pavement is wet it provides an extremely slippery surface as it pulls up the oils from the road.

On top of this, the friction is also reduced between the tire and the road.

Stay far away!

Keep a safe distance from the car in front of you about 6 seconds. Experts say to try to keep from being boxed in by cars in the lanes on either side of you. If you have space on either side of your car, you have an easy out in case the vehicle ahead of you stops suddenly.

Learn when to use your technology and when not to

Some features such as cruise control, forward collision warning systems are great to have but can be very dangerous during the rain. Wet weather may affect the systems' sensors and reduce their reliability.
